Tom is the original Florida DOGE.

When I ran for Mayor in 2022, the pillar of that campaign was to reduce our property taxes. We pressed the Council to reduce our millage rate to the Rolled back rate that year, it has saved our residents $70.2 million in property taxes. Since then, the city has still raised tax dollars by millions and squandered those savings.

While the chairman of the Budget Review Committee, we were criticized by city management and the council for overstepping our bounds. We were engaged citizens, focused on finding out why our city's budget was so bloated. They stopped our search for the truth by removing me and disbanding the committee. I will vote to bring back citizen engagement and work with the community to cut waste and promote transparency.

Tom retired after 37 years as a Boeing defense manager with oversight of $1.5 billion and a global team of 500. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and Management, Finance from Southeast Missouri State University.
